Ductwork Insulation Recommendations
For best performance, we recommend using Metal Spiral Ducting and Fittings. To ensure airtightness and durability:
- Apply duct sealant to male fittings.
- Push components together.
- Seal the joint with aluminum duct sealing tape.
Ducting in cold areas (e.g. loft spaces) must be insulated with at least 25mm thick material with thermal conductivity ≤ 0.04W/(m·K) to prevent condensation. Intake and exhaust ducts should be insulated even if there is no loft space. Bubble wrap insulation is not compliant with building regulations.
